The Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel and Paint is Safe, Free of cancer causing BPA, and Lead Free

Klean Kanteen is a reusable, light weight, risk-free stainless steel container free from leaching. NSF approved, safe, high-quality food grade 304 L.N. (18/8) stainless steel. Made from surgical grade 304 L.N. stainless steel (18/8) which is blended specifically for: food preparation, dairy, brewing, various medical uses such as metal pins, and where mineral migration is unacceptable.

Our stainless steel is put through a passivation / electropolishing process which seals the surface and prevents minerals from migrating into the contents.

Klean Kanteen used Monarch Laboratories to do a 48 hour sterile water test at room temperature. Test report #222812 revealed that no nickel could be detected (0 ppm). Tests also show our bottles to be lead free and safe for use with juice, milk and other beverages.

The color is provided through an Epoxy paint that has been tested to be lead, mercury, chromium and cadmium free. It's dishwasher safe (although we recommend hand washing to retain maximum color).
